An elected Liberal Nationals Government will commit to develop a fully enclosed off-leash dog park in both Alfredton and Buninyong.
Dog parks throughout Victoria provide a vital contribution to the community. They act as meeting places for both people and dogs to socialise and exercise in a safe environment.
In 2015, the Dowling Street fenced dog park was opened to the public and is considered an enormous success. The park has a dedicated group of users who have formed a community Facebook group to assist Ballarat City Council in the management and monitoring of the park.
Only a Liberal Nationals Government will support the valuable contributions our local community organisations make.
Comments attributable to Member for Western Victoria, Joshua Morris:
“Andrew Kilmartin and Amy Johnson have worked tirelessly with community leaders to deliver this funding for off-leash dog parks and if elected as MPs, I know they will both keep working hard and keep delivering for their communities.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Buninyong, Andrew Kilmartin:
“Dog parks are an essential community facility that give locals the opportunity to meet in a positive and supportive environment and provide opportunities to support each other’s health, wellbeing and social interaction.
I am looking forward to seeing what our local community and council can provide with this dog park in future years to come.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Wendouree, Amy Johnson:
“A wonderful sense of community within responsible dog owners and their animals will occur as a result of this long anticipated and much appreciated initiative.
I’m working hard with Matthew Guy and his team on important issues such as this because our community deserves a local Member of Parliament that’s fighting hard for them.”
